I'm trying to record a demo piece from the piano, but it isn't working very well. If I position the mic where the piano music sounds the best, I've found it is picking up a faint click from the keys. I can't hear it, but it is obvious on the recording. Is the mic too sensitive, is it a piano problem, any suggestions are really, really, welcome as I am tearing my hair out.

Try turning it away from the keyboard or placing a stocking over the mic to deaden it slightly. It might soften the pickup enough to stop it recording the clicks. If it's not by you during recording, could you get someone to stand where the mic is and tell you if they can hear the clicking?
