Ya, I hear ya! I've got a 1 3/4 year old who is "Sir Pokes Alot"!

That's the great thing about the 1038s, they're hard to damage. It will be pretty hard to protect the Vifas.

I would web search a 1038 and then get cheap 8" grills for the alphas for kid proof speakers.

I'm not sure where you are but q-components still has them for $12

But definitely match all three front tweeters one way or the other. It's critical!

I hear you on the pokes! But really, the soft dome tweeter is probably more resilient than the dust cap on the midwoofer. When the tweeter is poked in, it tends to spring back into place without creasing. But if the midwoofer dust cap is poked in, it is ruined.
