I bought a pair of "seconds" some years ago. If there was a blemish, I couldn't find it.

As to sensitivity, I've used the pair for a bedroom/bedroom porch system with an 8W amp with great success.

On my recommendation, my brother-in-law and several friends have purchased pairs for their main systems and have been uniformly happy with them.

Good idea,to have active(probably tiny chipamps) but I think that the word 'monitor' hardly can be assigned to a set of speakers worth only a hundred dollars. I think monitors thesedays are bookshelf speakers with amplifiers onboard rather than any acoustic reference.
