It was Wisconsin and USC, Rose Bowl 1963. Pete Beatherd had USC up by 42-14 at the end of the third quarter and everybody sat down to dinner. A few of us snuck back in the den to watch Vanderkelen throw his 4 TD passes in under 15 minutes.
Since they beat USC it was a good thing Having been humbled by bigger schools for so many years the fans from Wa and Or don't shed many tears when USC gets beat
