Nope this is Win98 here. Linux is on the shelf until they fix it. My friend who tried to load it from the ISP when he moved here developed the problem after having no difficulty with it.
There's some filtering or blacklisting going on, it's the only answer.

Thanks for the offer but I don't have any issues to discuss with PE forum. It's just an example of how thorough the lockout is. I think it's outrageous but I haven't pursued it a great deal.

Either a:) a filter at the ISP because the name contains 'sex' in it's name with or without hyphens and punctuation or b:) blacklisting of the ISP address because of some old spam problem or another using the name of my ISP as an alias. A different problem of note happened to me at a public terminal at the local library. My how-to site for media called afterdawn.com was part of the filtering system there. I learned later from the library director that they use an unmonitored program filter of porn sites that they buy from somebody. afterdawn.com was apparently on that program. I challenged the denial of service at the library and they acknowledged that it should not have been blocked and were able to re-edit the filter.
The question is: how did afterdawn.com get on some filter list to begin with?

Just about everything is in place for it. And the stalking horse will be child pornography.
You have all the media doing shows on child porn and Gen Hayden going in the back door during the hubbub.
MB, you seem to like the books I recommend. The best book I've read of late (outside of Lessig) is by Judith Levine.
The title is "Harmful To Minors." It's widely carried in every library in Wisconsin-- a bit surprising considering the subject matter. There's probably a copy near you.

If you think it'll do any good. I have a little ping program that I don't know how to use that might show the path to PE. It came with an old computer buy-- a scratch program so I don't exactly know what it totally does.
