I'm looking to build a pair of high efficiency speakers from a kit for use with a single-ended triode amp (probably a Bottlehead S.E.X.). Could I have the plans for the Theater 4 Bass Reflex speakers and the Theater 7 corner horns, so that I can figure out a total cost, and how complex they are to build? Also, it would be great to know if in your experience they are SET-friendly. In terms of sensitivity, they look great for SET use. But, other factors (like low, or widely varying impedances) can screw things up.

You probably wont regret the effort. [message #48892 is a reply to message #48879] |

I love my Theater 4s with my Paramours. There are no discernable(by me) freq. responce anomalies. They better just about all other speakers I've heard with the Paramours, including Doc Bottlehead's own Straight 8's and many versions of fostex backhorns. Dynamic and effortless sense of power with low watt amps; esp. parafeed amps! They are about the easiest speaker type to build (Theater 4's anyway) though they may be somewhat imposing in a small room. G.
