Hi folks,

Is the 800 hz jbl 2345 40 x 90 metal horn an equivalent horn to the eminence H290?
It would be used on top of an eight pi, with psd:2002.
Would the crossover need modification?
I just like the vintage look for the eight pi, and there may be a pair available locally.
regards,

Paul,
Sydney.

The H290 is a small horn to be used above 1kHz. Since crossover is at 1.6kHz, it's just fine. But it is a smaller horn.

Little heard of lately and too large for some cabinets but good sounding. The material is soft so be careful with tools. I used them in my Theatre 4's bought from a Wayne-friend store in OK.

Yes, that one is still my favorite. I wish they moulded them in one piece because it would look better, but the two piece design doesn't hurt the sound at all.

Thanks for your responses, guys. (nt) [message #46988 is a reply to message #46981] Tue, 31 May 2005 03:50 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Hi Waye,

Have you ever tried the current Peavy 1" compression driver? People have reported that it is a good one.

No, I haven't tried it. Peavey has really made some good products in the last decade or so though. I'll bet it's a pretty good part.
