Is there any particular advantage of one of these woofers over the other besides price and availability for subwoofer applications? For home use that is. Thanks.

Rick

The 2245 is tuned for deeper extension, the 2242 for greater output.

The 2245 is better for home use.

The JBL 2245H is no longer sold outright but it is still supported as a repair item. The JBL recone kit number is C8R2245H. So you can easily find refurbs in perfect shape.
