Hey all,

I've finished construction of my horns, I'll share a few pics for ya, its not painted yet though but who cares I'll do that later :-) Its a 300Hz flare freq and is used from 440Hz and up to 1.6KHz. Its got the Eminence Alpha 6 driver on it.

...and thanks for the follow up on Eighteen Sound.

I have been wanting to do a mid horn for a long time. A cross between radial and constant directivity, like a giant Peavey CH-3 would be my goal. This inspiration might just push me over the egde.

Cool! Enjoy 'em,
Thomas

That horn just really looks great! Thanks for posting the pics.

You modeled your horn in Hornresp, didn't you? Seems like you've posted the response curve for your horn from Hornresp, but I can't recall.

Hey Wayne,

I did do my modeling in Hornresp. I changed the design a bit though, and made it smaller than before (the horn flare is only 12" long at the moment), so that way I would use it a bit higher up, and also it would better fit in a tower case now, seeing its not very deep. Also I found the air trapped in the front of the cone is the perfect front chamber, and no rear chamber is required if I wish to extend HF response further, but sacrifice some of the low end, which is OK, I'll just cross them a bit higher (440Hz). To my thinking this should also decrease throat distortion, as its being used further away from both horn cutoff and driver resonance. I'll do a FR plot today hopefully then I'll post it here :-0 Also harmonic distortion tests if I get speakerworkshop set up!

Adrian
