Master
I'm going to make some more home theater speakers using Fostex
A/V drivers, since I had really good luck with the first pair
I made. My question is this: At what freq. do the KSN1038's
hit flat-3db at the low end? I guess I have to cross the
big drivers since their response goes pretty far out (they claim
20KHz, my ears claim 10-12K). Also, is just a coil going to
do the trick, or will I need a 12dB x-over? I used a pair of
RS piezios I had laying around in the first pair, no x-over,
worked fine. On this next set, I think the 1038 is hot enough
that it won't sound balanced without it. I may even have to
pad the tweeter a few dB. The drivers are about 94dB/1W.

Thx, Chris

Do a search for posts about the KSN-1038. There's a lot of good information contained in the archives here, including the specifications sheet from the manufacturer (Motorola) and some suggestions for attenuator components and for crossovers, when needed.
