Just a quick word to let you know that I'm now stocking three-way passive crossovers as are used in the π cornerhorns for JBL 2245/2123/2426 or 2241/2012/2426. They're purpose-designed for three-way π cornerhorns, but they are also suitable for other systems that use a woofer, large-format cone midrange and small-format compression horn, with or without horn loading of the woofer and midrange sections.

Hi Wayne

Is there a chance of an active valve 3-way crossover too?

Your version of the 2-way crossover is interesting,
but a 3-way would be even better. And the crossover points
is just what is needed for my own speakers.

All the best

Jan

Sorry, no, I don't have plans to develop an active three-way crossover any time soon. I'll not be doing any further audio development work until at least 2nd quarter 2003 because of other commitments.

The HF section uses compensation circuitry exactly like my two-way systems. And the MF and LF sections can be padded to suit. Each of these parameters is set for the specific application and optimized to fit the particular needs of the design.

Hi!

Thanks! For the HF i will use the same filter as the two way speakers... for the midrange i will go with 1st or 2nd... only a question about this: how do i figure the values for the bandpass? is a LF filter in series with a HF filter (at 250 and 1600 respectively) or is there something else to look at?

Thank you Wayne for all your help!

I'm using a first-order crossover on the low to mid, because wavelengths are long and overlap isn't a problem. For the mid to tweeter crossover, it's very similar to what's used in the two-way design.
