I recently came across a 1967 fender vibro champ. It works but the volume is very very faint, I did a little research and found this amp specs. a 4ohm 8 inch speaker. It appears the original speaker was replaced and now has a 8ohm 8inch speaker, could this be the problem causing the low volume? All the tubes seem to be fine as , and the caps look to be ok. Any help?

It won't make a huge difference, like I think you're saying. If the amp is properly working, I doubt you'd notice a difference swapping an 8Ω speaker for a 4Ω one. It might be slightly less loud, but probably just barely. The tonal characteristics might change slightly too, like maybe sounding a little more detailed or having a tad more bass. But again, not a huge difference.Check your tubes; You may have to take it into the shop.
