I wonder can anybody help me. My 90's amp head seems to suddenly dropout with sound, crackles and sputters when i play it. It does this more if i turn the presence pot and other pots, but not as much. I have tried to clean the pots but cannot get right behind them. If i let it settle im happy with the tone but all of a sudden it will splutter and crackle again. This makes it impossible to chance it at a gig.Im gutted cos i love the tone and dont want to pat with it. Thanks for reading, hope someone can advise me.

Seems like some problem with intermittent joint somewhere. Pull all the tubes (one by one), maybe cleaning the pins and retension of the sockets contacts can help. If not, technician help is in order...
