Here's some pics of the Pilotone and the Bogen. Any suggestions, tips or observations are very welcome.

Potentiometer on board?

Tape head? Tape Amp?

Bogen

XTAL?

You have some cool stuff there! I don't have any real good comments or suggestions, just some loose thoughts. I'd probably trace the circuit to try and figure out the unknowns. The tape ins and outs I'm guessing accept different levels, but that's just a guess. The pot may be a hum bucking pot. Xtal may be an auxilliary input; I doubt it's a crystal connection for a tuner circuit, but I don't know. Maybe others will chime in with better info.

Those are some nice looking amps you have. The Bogen looks to have some good sized transformers on it.

My friend in the TV/Audio business loaned me a variac. He had to scrounge to find one. I've fired up the bogen with a 12 hr breakin. Going to listen tonite. Pilotone is next.

I have a bunch of mono blues and jazz recordings in 78 and 33 from the 50's I picked up at an auction. I'm thinking the pilotone is just the ticket. Now I need to find a tt with 78. My old technics is 33 and 45.

I would look for a Dual 1009 or 1019. I believe both have 78 and the tall spindle to hold 6 records. They will treat your records better than any other changer I know of. Good listening
