Does anyone here use earbuds? I assume that they may be more likely to damage hearing than headphones, if they're misused because they're partially inserted in the ear.

I don't use them. What do you think of them?

Can't stand 'em personally. They feel uncomfortable, like a rock in my ear. That's just me though.

I have an ipod earbud. I seldom use it because playing it too loud can damaged your eardrum.

I haven't had a problem with them but at the same time. I think that they are more or of a hassle than headphones because sometimes they don't stay in the ear so I would prefer to have headphones especially if Im moving around.

I think those things aren't any good in the first place. I think that nothing should be that close to your ear because its not good for them.

No I do not like wearing them. I find that my ears seem to be too sensitive to the sound when I do.

Actually, this thread reminded me of someone at work using a walkie talkie who got the earpiece stuck in his ear.

I think he went to the hospital to have it removed. I'm sure that doesn't happen all that often, though.

No it probably does not happen a lot. But I guess it could happen. My concern is always more that the sound is too much, too close to the ear. Well in this case inside the ear.

These things may work well, etc, but they drive me crazy. I find almost all of them very uncomfortable. I don't know if they do more damage, but I like ones that fit over my ears instead of hurting inside my ear.... maybe I just have small ears though.

Anything being played too loud in your ear is bad for your hearing whether it be earbuds or headphones. I have noticed after about ten years of recording my hearing has deminished a little bit.
