I'm always trying to win the madman award.

49 cent midwoofers from partsexpress, 5 watts rms
meets QSC PLX3402 in bridge mode.

Yep, last years line array project gets a new power plant,
four PLX3402 all in bridge mode.

The amps;

Tweeters are all in parallel for 0.8 Ohms, the PLX has no issue.
Midrange are 2 Ohm wired, PLX has no issues.

Pretty amazing dynamics. The old power plant was an Adcom 555
on tweeters, QSC RMX2450 on midrange. I often clipped those amps,
but not now. I'm was worried about the 1200w/ch driving NSB's,
now I have no worries and it's running 3400w/ch.

I went to a few high end audio stores to calibrated my ear to
make a comparison. I'm specifically looking for high impact sound,
low distortion, and higher than normal SPL. The $20k systems
[non array] I listened to can't compete with the DIY line array,
it's much superior in sound and SPL, even for a budget oriented design.
