They are what I like, and perform better for my liking. The neo magnet drivers have more flux in the gap than ceramic counterparts. The neo magnet has a more stable flux across the entire frequency range. The driver is 1/3 the the weight and significantly reduces shipping cost. The neo magnets drivers are well worth the little extra money over a ceramic and less expensive than new alnico models.

Hi Bill, What other requirements do you have for this project other than using "Neo" magnets? What kind of back-chamber are you looking to use? Ron (I know-long time no hear from. I'm getting better now, just been busy with non audio stuff)

Bill, would you say the same is true for compression drivers too. For example, the BMS 4590 vs 4592. I saw the Firenze at Replay last year, but didn't get a chance to hear them. Those double coax BMS looks very interesting. BTW, saw your "2005" 3-way at Replay today. Very nice work. Flawless integration of the midhorn into the cabinet. A lot smaller than I expected though. Any chance you can drop a note on this forum, maybe in Swap Meet, to announce new models at Replay? Gar.

Hi Gar,Thanks, Those speakers are special built small and light. I'm looking to shave a few more pounds with a neo mid driver. The one that is in them weighs more than the woofer. Lots of sound from that little package. thanks again. I'll try and leak any news on the swap meet forum. As far as compression drivers. I first noticed I liked the sound and performance of the neo magnet driver over ceramic with compression drivers. so the answer is yes. I recommend only the neo compression drivers. I'm making some 4x10 guitar cabs for the boys using neo speakers. Actually making 4 units 2 x 10 with 1/2" baltic ply and the whole thing will stack and lock into a full stack. 4 nice lightweight parts that will fit into a lot of places and easy to carry around.
