Why are pro sound drivers like the Eminence drivers so sensitive? How are they built differently from home audio drivers?

I just said the same thing in the last post I think DUH. What I meant was Low freq extension less sensitvity. Hi sensitivity less low freq extension. Because of the laws of physics you can have one but not the other. Bill W.

I know,my 2226 uses 6cubes INTERNAL + 1cube port so almost 7cubes all up,my mains are tiny though And its not getting any smaller either, am thinkn of makn 2226 horn from 17mm PLY-I hope its strong! Cheers

The law is correct, but there is a common misconception associated with it. It's true that from a given driver, box size and alignment that there will always be a trade off between size, extension and SPL. However, from a given box size alone there is not an absolute relationship between extension and SPL. The driver parameters and alignment are just as important as controlling factors in the equation.
