Has anyone used the Eminence Beta 8CX before with the reccomended APT-50 supertweeter? What's the quality like of both these components?

The Beta 8CX datasheet says its 89mm deep, but is it more deeper with the APT50 fitted or it is the same?

Does this driver 'sound' 'better' than a normal low eff commerical driver (for fullrange use)?

Might be cool to try a pair in a car.

I'll bet you're right - I'll bet it does sound good in a car. Probably be great with a subwoofer for home use too. Adire Audio makes speakers based on Eminence Beta coaxials and a version of the APT-50 tweeter.

Screwing on the APT adds about 1-7/8".

Thanks John.

Could the PSD2002-S also be screwed onto an 8CX? Or do you need to find 'mini' compression drivers?

I guess that would also add more depth if it can be done.

Yes, that would also work. It would add about 2-1/8" to the driver. However, I think I'd prefer the APT.
