I heard that B and O once made a type of speaker that adapted itself somehow to the room that it was in, and I wondered if anyone could remember which model of speaker this was? I don't think they make this type any more.

::Would you say that B&O are overpriced generally? Yes very much so, I used to repair some of there crap when I lived in Arizona working at a hi end audio shop and there not very durable either for the price you pay. Check out some of JBL's studio monitors they have one that auto Eq's to the room where the monitors are placed. I don't remember the model right off hand. Bill W.

HI Fred, You are right. The same argument can be made for any hend speaker. In fact, if we wer eto compare apples to apples, in the world of high end off the shelf turn key speakers, the BEolab 5 is actually a GOOD value. Many higher priced speakers have inferior technology. Of course, one can always DIY for cheaper, but a tat is oranges to apples. Many audiophiles do not/ cannot DIY, and just want a hassle free package that looks nice and does everything in one box! Many of these have budgets of 15-25 K for a good system. For such folk, the beolab 5 is a great investment. Not for us DIYers, certainly! -akhilesh
