Can someone tell me if it is ok to use 4" car speakers with you home hi fi. I want to build some speakers for my home system and was thinking of using car ones. Is there anything wrong with this?

No, nothing wrong with that. If they're poor quality, that isn't good but otherwise it's OK.

If the small size is what you're after you may look at some of the small full-range Fostex drivers. They're very popular for hifi enthusiasts and music lovers.
