AudioRoundTable.com would like to welcome our newest sponsor, CryoParts. We're pleased to have CryoParts as a member of the Round Table.

According to CryoParts, cryogenic treatment changes the microstructure of metal in a desireable way. Many knife and sword makers use this process as it gives metal a more uniform hardness and greater dimensional stability, due to the conversion of austenite (large unstable particles of carbon carbide, resulting in a large grained lattice structure) to martensite (fine grained lattice structure).

What does it do for audio? [message #1393 is a reply to message #1383] Tue, 22 March 2005 12:32 Go to previous message
