Like two Altec 3182 woofers (18 inch, Fs=18, Qts=0.4, EBP=45) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3702903562&category=47094&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWN%3AIT&rd=1 In a closed box approximately 7 ft^3, they're F3 at 40Hz, -6dB at 30Hz Vented at 30 ft^3, they're F3 at 20Hz Now 30ft^3 does approach difficult to accomodate in a domestic situation (to put it mildly), but would it be worth it vs. 6dB of EQ in 7 ft^3 to flatten the response to 30Hz (probably not even that much boost with room augmentation)?

Not thinking too clearly at 2 AM. Fooled with a tape measure for about 5 minutes. No matter what the aspect ratio 30 ft^3 sized to fit through the doorway from the garage into the house is pretty unmanageable. It ought to have occured to me that it would be approximately the same size as the 26 ft^3 refrigerator in the kitchen - I don't see two of those in the living room. Looks like it's going to be sealed. The weird thing is my wife is an absolute saint - she wouldn't care what I did. The bad part is that I have to exercise some sort of self control in these matters, not exactly my long suit .

30cubes each? 900L ? i could design a corner basshorn using the lab12 that does 25hz flattish with ~103db efficiency and less than that volume! did u buy them? its hardly worth it,what about raising the Qts artifically and using them for dipoles or IB ! got an attic? Cheers!

This driver doesn't need 900L though unless you want an F3 below 20Hz on its own without room gain. 400L/16Hz tuned gives ~28Hz anchoic F3 and ~22Hz F6 with this driver (Altec 3182). Its Qts is 0.40

HI, If you are using them for a sub, think about and active crossover, and biamping them in a much smaller enclosure. I have a pair of EV force 15s that are similar to yours, and if i ever get arounfd to using them, that is what i will do. -akhilesh
