I generally don't care for cop shows. There's a whole slew of them. My older bro. told me about a cop show years back called Bosch that at the time was pay per view. Guess its old enough now to be a freebee on the Roku box. I've watched all 7 seasons now and on the postmortem "legacy" season. Set in contemporary LA, LAPD detective Harry Bosch, (whose named after the Dutch painter Hieronymus) by his prostitute mother who was murdered. Setting him off on a career solving the seamy side of life's dirty deeds.
It's a very well made look into the practices of bringing nerdowells to justice. More nuanced than old Jack Webb's, "just the facts ma'am". Including departmental politics and city hall politics. Harry Bosch is hard nosed and high standard, and expects the same with his partner and colleagues. Harry's got a penchant for Jazz too, and listens exclusively to vinyl on his Marantz turntable, Ohms Walsh speakers and a McIntosh tube amp when he's brooding about a case in his hilltop home overlooking the big city of LA sprawled out with twinkling lights in the night.
