I know that the RB300 arm is a mid mass arm, but I am not totally sure of the complience of this garrot cart.

Does anyone know whether these are a decent match? I have the rb300, and really want to try this cartridge, as I have heard great things about it.

What makes this cartridge more appealing to you than; say a Denon or some other good medium mass compatible cartridge?

Nothing really- apart from the fact my dealer sings it's praises, and some glowing reviews I have read.

Good a reason as any. The Garrott Bros. don't own this name anymore though; do they?

Hi manualblock,

Good question, and I am unable to answer it, I recently had a Koetsu cart retipped by the mob in Melbourne,I am not sure what name they go by-maybe Tivoli Hi Fi.And they did a super job too.

Mind if I ask about what they charged for that service. I have a Fidelity Research I have always loved and it could do with a re-tip; I just never felt comfortable diving in.

Not at all.
All up it cost me $715 Aust dollars.
They waived the $45 inspection fee when I went ahead with the re-tip.
Koetsu Surcharge-$330
MicroScanner II stylus $385

I can't quite put my finger on the subtle changes of cart since I have had it back, but I am very happy with their service.Took about a month to get it back.

Thanks for the info. Why is there a surcharge for the Koetsu? Or is that a charge that applies to each brand according to difficulty?
