I'm going to invest my tax refund, but it's still fun to think about blowing it all. If you had an extra $100, $500, or $1,000 to make a audio/video purchase what would you buy?

$100 - Four months with Audibles and use the left over funds to purchase books.

$500 - Bose Conversation Enhancing Headphones which go for a tidy $499. I'd need someone to loan me the tax.

$1,000 - Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar Plus, I'd have enough left over for one of their universal remotes.

With $100 I would buy more music lessons for my kids. With $500 I would purchase a new guitar. With $1,000 I would buy shares of stock. I'm guessing there's got to be an audio company that is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

For anything less than $500, I would get records. With a combination of old (from used record stores) and new I could get a pretty goodly number of them. Above that I would likely order a new cartridge or two for my turntables. Possibly a Dynavector 20X2, maybe a high end Grado.

Good Listening

With $100 I'd buy some violin lessons for myself to see if I have an aptitude for this instrument which fascinates me.

With $500 I'd do the same - violin lessons.

With $1000 I'd buy a violin and a few started lessons. I'd be committed once I'd bought the instrument!
