If any of you has watched a 3D-movie before, you'll probably agree that the experience is normally worth every bit of your time. Is it possible to recreate the same effect in your living room? How much would this cost?

I don't think enough channels create 3D programs in order for it to be viable. I don't believe 3D televisions work unless the program was made in 3D, but I could be mistaken.
