I saw an original one on American Pickers last night, from like the '20's....it looked nothing like the one I'm posting, and I just had to look it up. I have never heard of them before. Here is a site that sells newer models:

No chance. It is nearly certain to be of marginal quality and would be virtually impossible to upgrade to something decent. With LPs going from a few cents at second hand stores (many really good ones are found that way) to over $50 for new releases I would not want to risk any of my collection on something like in the photo. BTW there is another one on the market now by Pyle. Also a piece of junk.

Do you remember vertical players in the 1970s?
I seem to recall one that was sold as a high-end product, but I never looked into it to see if it might be a good product or not. I was happy with my Technics direct drive at the time, and had no reason to look for a table. It had a great cartridge and tone arm, and was plenty good for my budget at the time.
I was already familiar with the snake oil in audio (which is why I built my own loudspeakers) so I didn't really feel the need to look further. But in hindsight, I do now wonder if that table had legitimate claim or not.
To be honest, I think it was probably BS. Same as the linear tracking tables of the time. More time spent marketing a fabrication of supposed technology than actually spending the time to develop something worthwhile.
I'm at the age where I should remember Wayne, but I don't.
But where are the speakers on that thing in the picture? Is it a wireless set-up?
I could see someone with doubles of vinyl in the same collection trying one just to see if it's worth anything more than a conversation piece, but I wouldn't buy one.
I've never seen anything close to what you've posted but just like Gofar says, it'd be pointless to purchase something that cannot be upgraded. Considering the price of LPs, I think it is safer to stick with them.
