Cruised on down to Columbus yesterday for the quarterly record show put on a by a local dealer, Colleen's Collectibles. This one was especially important to me as Vinyl is now my primary source.

Found a dealer with 8 big boxes all marked $3.
Emmy Lou Harris, Cimarron
Joan Sutherland, Art of the Prima Donna
Dizzy Gillespie, An Electrifying Evening With
Brahms Double, Heifetz/Piatigorsky (Soria Series)
Tosca, Milanov, Bjoerling, Warren; RCA Victrola!...Bjoerling!!!!
Cavelleria Rusticana, Callas, DiStefano, Tozzi
James Galway, Mozart: The Two Flute Concertos

Then I went for some must haves to replace CD's.
Retrospective, Buffalo Springfield $7
Count Basie, li'l ole groovemaker $9.50
King Crimson, Court of the Crimson King $13
Sonny Rollins, Alfie soundtrack $15 (Outrageosly great pressing)
B,S&T, Child Is Father To the Man $10
Joni Mitchell, Blue $4

I had given up finding any Joni Mitchell and then there it was for 4 bucks!

Every album is VG+ or better. Some look never played. And there's so much more involvement at a show, not just in the music, but everything to do with Analogue now that it's a "cult" thing. Finding records, components, parts, sharing knowledge and inter-acting with other collectors is so great.

An added bonus is using "Blue" to set the speed on my Ariston. There's a strobe disc in the mat but it's so worn I can't get it to stop moving. I put "Blue" on the CD player and on the Turntable, synchro'd them as best I could and then A-B'd until the table had the same pitch as the CD. Everything had been off a full tone!

OK, it's 9 A.M. Time to wake the neighbors.

Don't bother to call!
