I may soon be moving (crossing fingers ) and will most likely be downsizing my gear. I'm looking at a RasPi with i2s DAC player, preamp, turntable, phono pre, and a pair of Pass ACA monoblocks or st35 tube amp as the majority of the system.
Since I will be renting for the better part of a year I'd like to get a decent strip that will provide some protection. Decent sound quality of course but my hearing loss makes tweaky, silly priced hi-fi pointless.
Any suggestions? I've hear the Furman PL-8 Plus are decent and reasonable used.

I have to admit, I've treated those like a commodity for the last couple of decades. Not that they're trivial - they're not - but most seem to do a pretty good job. And I've had experience with 'em catching a spike and sacrificing themselves doing it.
The MOV shorts saving the connected devices and kicks the breaker. Since the MOV is shorted, the breaker can never be reset - it's trash once it does its job. They'll survive a little spike here and there, but the spikes that matter kill the protection device.
