I was going through my parents' attic and came across a box of my old cassette tapes. Just for the heck of it, I'd like to get a cassette player and play some of these tapes. Even though I have most of the stuff on CD or mp3 now, it's just a nostalgia thing.

Where can I find a cassette player these days?

Don't you love attics? The things you can find up there. I found an old 8-track cartridge and some weird old trinkets from years ago. I don't think they were mine.

You could try Best Buy, I think they still sell cassette players on their website.

I was going to say eBay, too. You could also try Craigslist, although it's very hit-and-miss and if you did find one it would probably be used.

Ebay was my first thought as well, but perhaps Amazon will have something, if you haven't already found one. It's been so long since I've listened to a cassette tape, I couldn't even tell you how it would sound compared to an mp3.

Hi, A high end vintage player is better than MP3. I have a Harmon Kardon That will easily do 30HZ to 20K and has a S/N of 55-58 db without dolby with "B" it is in the 65+ range. A lot better all in all since it is not compressed.

I was wondering this as well. I found a bunch of old tapes that I made for my husband when we were dating that he saved and we wanted to listen to them. We ended up going out to his truck one night just to play them. Having a tape player in the house would be so much better.

I don't know Liza, that sounds kind of romantic in a way. Go out for a night drive with the cassette in the player re-visiting and re-living the old days.
