Yahoo made headlines a while back when they banned telecommuting for working moms and dads. Now they've come out with a new maternity/paternity leave that entails 16 weeks of PTO for new moms and 8 weeks of PTO for new dads. Do you think this is a better solution than telecommuting?
How about giving them a choice? Paternity leave or telecommute. I'm sure Yahoo has enough money to where they can bend a little more than what they are.
Excuse the pun, but it "sounds" to me like they don't know how to handle the situation. It's easy really, give expectant mothers the respect they deserve.
