I ran across an article on Audiophilia's recommended releases for 2013. Would you ever buy CDs on the basis of such an article? I can't say I would. I have to listen to the music first.

I may glance over such a list and if something sounds interesting, I'll preview it on Amazon, but that is generally as far as it goes. I would never take such recommendations as gospel.
