Dear Wayne: Your 4 Pi crossover just arrive and I would like to ask you a question maybe a silly question- about the piece of aluminium off board. Is it R3? And what is it for? Is it optional? Do I have to connect it to the PCB? What to do with it and how to place it in the box? I'm planning to build 4 Pi JBL and B&C drivers. Sorry for the novice question.
Thank You very much
Santos

The big silver block that comes with the crossover is R3. It is not optional - It must be connected to the crossover board at the R3 connector. Mount it with screws to the inside bottom of the cabinet, right beside the crossover.

Also, make two gaskets from cardboard or sheet PVC. One should be the same size as the crossover and the other is the same size as R3. Use the gaskets underneath the crossover parts when mounting them.
