Can anyone give me some tips about tuning vents and resonators? I was thinking of building either some xylophone type instruments like Solomon Island folks instruments and I was also thinking about venting my sub woofer for my gaming computer speaker system. Any help would be great!

That's basic Helmholtz resonance, so you might look up Helmholtz resonators and Thiele/Small theory.
