John Broskie's Tube Cad Journal has a new circuit that he calls the Width Enhancer for tube amps. It can be adapted for typical tube amps. It makes the center hole due to early recording techniques disappear.

Wow, a simple "negative/positive blend" control. The blend control was handy on my PAS - but to make it go the other way - that's cool.
