Share your line array with everyone here, and give us a picture.

We did this in 2007 and it would be fun to do it again. Mine is described in some recent posts along with a couple of photos.

My latest budget favorite is the Art Array with a higher level crossover than the original version. The Art Array is a special purpose speaker: sensitive enough to be driven by an 8 watt SET amp, high impedance in the important bass frequencies, costs about $400 total (including all internal parts and enclosure materials) to build, easy-to-build enclosures. To make a long story short , these are a mixture of Rick and Danny's help , enclosures are built by me .Biamped array, and powered subwoofers, all with Beringer DCX 2496 Xover. Total power of amps both channels 2500 watts approx.
Enclosures have curved sides (6 ply of 4mm baltic plywood ) front baffle is 40 mm MDF. Back is Solid Dahoma wood, both are black laquered. Top and bottom are solid cherry, sides with cherry veneer, all finished with high gloss polyurethane Two metal 10mm plates as bases with 4 superspikes screwed .
Listen to a jazz trio, close your eyes, and they are with you in the room !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Jazz at the pawn shop cant be better, drum solos just unbelievable.

Mid/woofers are GR M165x(from Danny) paper cone wich I think sound more natural than other materials, and tweeters are Fountek Neo CD 2.The original design is from Rick : RS8 with Dayton mid/bass aluminum cone.
The crossover is the Behringer DCX 2496 using 24 db LR on the woofer high pass @ 80hz and 48DB LR on the Mid low pass @ 90hz and 48db LR @ 1950 hz on mid highpass and tweet low pass , cheap machine but exellent for the price , I may change it later for better a performence one like the DEQX but it is too expensive now .Some EQ is used for room interraction.
The subwoofers are the Citrine ( fron Rick ) with 500 watts built in amp driving 2 x 12" Peerless long throw drivers .

Very interresting ! Tell us how they sounds, and if you had more trouble with room interraction than a closed or vented box ?
One advantage is the weight! they must be lighter than my 120 Kg each : four persons to lift them without risk !!!!
I see a small speaker hanged in the corner behind the main array and on top of the sub. Please explain . How is the image and depth of stage ?

Before I decided at which frequency to cross the Founteks I asked Rick if I could go low around 2000Hz and he said he did , and I really play loud .If you cross higher, then you'll probably get comb issues with the mids !!!I tried to cross higher 2300 and up to 2500 but did not like the result , the GR's are not very happy at this frequency.About Fountek to be stressed : I did not experience any , they are really good tweeters , they are connected 2x 4 for a 4 ohm resistance , my amp delivers 500 watts at 4 ohms and I do play at live volumes .

Man those are beautiful, JP. The finish is spectacular.

I've never seen a DIY project that rivals the finish of Sonus Faber speakers before
