I have a set of Valencia's with 416a, 811b both 16ohm and the 800-F crossover. I am looking to update / upgrade the crossover. Will any of the PI crossovers work?

You could use one of mine, but why not just upgrade the components on the one you have?

well I was thinking of keeping the orig crossover intact for comparison purposes and in case I ever wanted to sell them. Also I was hoping that you could incorporate some EQ into the crossover along the lines of the model 19 crossover in an attempt to get better hi freq extension? I do not know if this is possible with the valencia? Another reason is that I can not read the values on the caps... I also do not have a schematic for the 800-f... so I am flying a bit blind.

All of my crossovers intended for use with compression drivers have top octave compensation. You could probably use the 800Hz, 1kHz, 1.2kHz or 1.6kHz two-way crossovers. I can send you schematics if you like.

That would be great Wayne, thanks... Or if I could find a used 800-f cross over could you update it? Thanks again... Oh also are these usually better off the ground a bit or not? Thanks!

I don't do any service work, but could probably recommend someone who can. As for speaker height, it's usually kind of a compromise for two-way speakers, since you want the midrange source raised to ear level for imaging but this causes midbass to suffer from floor bounce, which causes a notch in response. I tend to prefer leaving speakers as low as possible to the ground to remove floor bounce. Large-format two-ways work pretty well this way. Smaller cone/dome speakers tend to work better a little higher up off the ground.
