I have to give a lot of audio and visual points to this one. There is a rave review below at the link.
Easily the best kung fu movie out there eclypsing Crouching Tiger as a mainstream release. Best word for the cimematography is 'elegant.'
And the oriental instrumentation played nicely on my MLTLs.
No Kung Fu Hustle in this message.

I guess I would have to disagree about the characterization of Hero as a kung-fu movie. At least in my mind that conjures up images of Bruce Lee / Chuck Norris extravaganzas. I think Hero is a very thoughtful movie, and I whole heartedly agree with the use of the word elegant. In some respects it does pay homage to what we've been accustomed to think of as "typical" martial arts movies, but I believe there is was a serious intent to express quite a bit more about nobility and sacrifice than is present in the run-of-the-mill karate movie. Well worth the money, time and effort.

And it wasn't my intent to chastise or be critical - I was just trying to expand a little on what the movie is like. No offense intended at all. Sorry.

As in "having seen it"? Nope. Just using the play on words.
I am back to watching old Star Trek Voyager episodes after having seen Riddick and Van Helsing from library reserves.
My library gets all kinds of pop stuff. I'm looking forward to the new Merchant Of Venice with Al Pacino.

Kung Fu Hustle is worth catching when it's released next Friday. Definately a different type of movie. A blend of kung fu, Buster Keaton, and Bugs Bunny. Completely unashamed that almost everything about it is borrowed from other movies because it improves on it and makes it work.

Is it anything like Kung Pow! ?
The teasers to that one made it look interesting, but was pretty lame-- even mwith the kung fu holstein.
In Wisconsin, we knows our cows.
