I drew up a list of costs for the 4 Pi's I'm planning. Just the raw stuff, I'm getting for about $320 for both speakers. With shipping and a few other things I estimated it to be about $420, everything included(wood, glue, screws...), I'll probably spend about $500.

Here it is.

PXB2 1K6 (Crossover) 2 $24.16 $48.32

Not Bad! I think that including Baltic birch ply and cherry veneer I spent as total of about $700. Most parts came from Parts Express. (This is just a crude estimate.)

Danny - you now have the option of building those 4-Pi for a bit cheaper with your new JBL M252-8 JBL 15" (thats what ya get) - how does the Eminence Delta 15 sound?

Hmm, how high does the M252-8B2 go? [message #35620 is a reply to message #35617] Thu, 21 March 2002 10:09 Go to previous messageGo to next message

I hadn't given it much thought, but yeah I could make the 4 Pi's out of them 252's... I haven't got them yet, and I haven't ordered the deltas.

anybody know of a response graph for the 252?, think it might be similar to the 151 or 222?

Danny - 'think' Rex Mills said he used 2Khz xover and it replaced woofer in 3677 sounding better - must not be too shabby - you might call JBL pro and ask:

I called up and ordered everything I needed for them 4 Pi's, minus the wood.

Also, I never got a reply on the Tent sale order I placed, and they didn't charge my credit card, so I ordered again 2 M252-8B2's.

Hi Sam -

that woof can work with f10@50 (~86dB @50) in a 2.2cu.ft. sealed box - no stuffing - BB4 is ~7.5cu.ft. with bump cause tuned to fs - think yu could tune a bit lower and use lotsa fiberglass loining 'ala VMPS to get rid of bump but still keep some cone damping in 28-42hz region - Rex said it sounded better than 3677 woof - what 15" is in that one? - am confused by JBL export drivers

I just got my price sheet from Eminence - I'm negotiating with them about becoming a dealer. I still need to contact some other vendors, but I can already see that I'll be able to be price competitive.

So soon I'll be offering kits.
