i cut up my 166e and used a socket phase guide as per the paper a few months ago and they improved the speaker (high frequency smoothed out .

pity i'm out of dallas for the next month (which is why i wasn't at the last DAC meeting), ... would have been interested to see the 166e drivers in voigt pipes as opposed to horns.
