I am making use of a projector that I constructed two years ago and must say it was one of the best decisions that I made.
The image quality is top-notch while the projector brings that home cinema experience.
To build this projector, I had to go beyond the basics by making use of an LCD panel, lenses, and an LED light source. I sourced most of these materials from Aliexpress since they offered a wide range of electronics and parts that one can use to make constructions at home.
Here are the items that I used:
The LCD panel and driver board which cost $150
The Lenses (that's the front and back Fresnel lenses, the projection lens, and the condenser lens) that I spent $60 on.
I made use of the 200W LED as a light source which I spent around $150 to get. Then the cooling fans that were gotten for $40. You need two back fans, 8 small LCD fans, and a dust filter for that.
I used the acrylic sheets for the frame since I wanted top quality. Got nuts, wires, epoxy, black vinyl wrap, threaded rods, a power socket, HDfury splitter, and some other minor items for the construction.
Building the projector took me around a week to finish because it involved handling each part of the construction with great caution.
If you are interested in making something like this and have the budget to do so because I think you need around 400 to $500 to get the items in the online marketplace. I can now break down the processes that it took for you.
