I depend on alternative journalism in the form of written blogs and media to discern
the totally disruptive US policies that consist of its empire imperialism towards the nations of the world. Critical blogger Ben Norton's Geopolitical Political Report is one of the best and most thorough critique of what our country is doing to try and keep its hegemony going. You won't find this kind of reporting in any commercial media.

This is important because knowing the reality of what is going on domestically and internationally is critical towards giving people a sense of why there is so much dysfunction that affects our lives. Literally. Blogs are not backed by great wealth or corporate influence. There are good individuals with academic discipline and concern with the state of the world that contribute this information to the public.

Biased information is crafted by the power of an elite minority of society towards perpetuating interests advantageous to them. It's as old as civilization itself. This is the dichotomy of the distribution of wealth and the influences therein it has with legal authority.

Here Mr. Norton gives understanding with the ongoing feud with Brazil and their legally elected president Lula da Silva that president Trump has taken personal ire with. Mr. Norton shows the historical perspective of the US with its Monroe Doctrine approach to the southern tier of the continents. A long history of meddling with the sovereignty of nation states in Central & South America. With direct armed conflicts, election meddling, coup's, assassinations and financial subterfuge. A pattern of behavior our nation has committed to in its foreign policy "Everywhere" in the world in fact.

Brazil being a principal in the BRICS alignment of nations is a main trading partner with China who is investing in infrastructure in South America to facilitate its trade alliance being better served. This has brought the attention of Washington to bear in trying to subvert this process. Which is the main policy of our arrogant diplomacy.

President Lula is standing up to this tyranny and I for one hope he and others in South and Central America & Mexico are successful in countering our criminally leaning foreign policy. The far right seems to embody the dark triad of human behavior that has caused the most detrimental effect on humanity in history and now. Authoritarianism is its hallmark of imposing control. Our current president embodies that totally.
