The link you provided from Michael Hudson describes the situation in Russia pretty well. I think it may blame some players a little more than others, but it definitely gives the picture. The point is that there is a huge problem over there from novi-russki.

As for what we're doing over here, I agree with what I think is your point - that we have some politicians that make "magic money" simply by entering politics. They are in a position to decide where the money can go, and in so doing, some seems to fall right into their pockets.

In that respect, I kind of like the house-cleaning we appear to be doing right now. I hope it's on the up-and-up. I don't like how we've begun to treat Ukraine, but I like everything else. Hopefully, it all ends up being for the best.

This is a time when my fingers are crossed very tightly.
