I enjoyed the music in The Nightmare Before Christmas, which Elfman scored. He's such an odd character, though. I guess it's fitting that most of his films are unique.
In my opinion, no one beats John Williams. Many top blockbusters are identifiable by his music alone. The music plays, and you know it's the cue that Darth Vader is coming. The music plays, and you know it's the cue that someone is about to get eaten on Jurassic Park.
