The "N" letter in Cyrillic is what appears to our eyes as "Н."

So, for example, the phrase novi russki (new Russian) is "новый русский."

That phrase, by the way, is a very derogatory remark. It's what the Russians used to call what some people now call "oligarchs." It has always had a very negative connotation over there.

Too bad they don't actually do something about it other than calling them derogatory names. Then again, what would any individual do over there to object? They probably fear for their lives, their safety and their "freedom." It's not just the Ukrainians that are hurt by Putin's psychopathy. They're just the country he happens to be taking aggression upon this year.

Anyway - sorry for the digression - I just wanted you to know that the "N" letter looks like an "Н" to us, much like the "S" letter looks like a "С" as in Светлана (Svetlana).
