DVDs will be with us for some time. It might go to Blu Ray and 4k only at some point in the future, but there are still many places that do not have high speed internet connections. I don't think that you will get the benefit of the HD audio through streaming, either.

If you are not someone that has to see a movie when it first comes out you can use EBAY, Half.com or many other web based resources to buy DVDs at greatly reduced prices.
