I have a degree in elementary education and 2 kids in school so I am no stranger to helping kids learn. I have noticed that music isn't used nearly as much in my kid's schools to teach them other subjects. Once they have learned the alphabet song that is about it for learning with music.
I don't know if any of you are old enough to remember the School House Rock videos from Saturday morning cartoons, but we actually have the DVD set. I can still sing the song about adverbs and the other song about multiplication with 3.
Not all kids learn the same way and many of them would benefit from these kinds of songs. I thought I would remind parents that there are a lot of great songs out there that can help their kids learn some basics in school.
