The current system has been evolving for about five years. It started out with a number of highly respected audiophile speakers, none of which integrated well with the oddly shaped asymmetric room. Eventually research into how to decrease room effects led me to constant directivity designs and Pi Speakers. For the last several years four 3 Pis anchored the sound system with great results. The chance to upgrade a 60" Panasonic plasma to a 9' front projection display came up about six months ago and the 6 Pi looked like the best way to create a more spacious soundstage to match the larger screen. About 40 hours of construction and $450 dollars in additional drivers and materials later, the 6 Pis were ready. The system has been described by a fellow audiophile as "effortlessly musical" and I can only agree. As good as the 3 Pi is, the corner horn is better still.
