The sticker on the frame of a JBL 22xx woofer doesn't identify the frame, it identifies the moving assembly. The first three digits are a date code and the next three characters tell you the plant where it was made. There is another serial number on the back of the magnet that identifies the basket.
My point is that the factory label can easily be left in place - and usually is - even if it is reconed.
